League of ambition
Capella University is relaunching as a performance brand under its new campaign titled: ‘WHAT CAN’T YOU DO.’ Using a partnership with the WNBA as an entry point into culture, Capella will show up to support both the league and its players. What better inspiration for students earning graduate degrees than the most educated professional sports league in the world?
As the official sponsor of grit, welcome to the League of Ambition.

LASTING LEGACY PLEDGE
1 out of every 5 active WNBA players is working on (or has completed) a graduate degree or higher, compared to only a handful in the entire history of the NBA. Capella University is committed to supporting every WNBA player with free education, not for a season, but for the long run. With access to further education, players can build new skills and prepare for whatever comes next. It’s more than a sponsorship; it’s a promise that their future matters as much as their game.
The Capella x WNBA partnership officially launched right before the WNBA All Star weekend in Chicago, so we built a booth centered around community storytelling. Interactive walls, basket-shooting trivia, and visits by current players had thousands stopping by for free merch and to participate in our social media.
ALL STAR WEEKEND
SUBWAY TAKE OVER
(re)DRAFTED
The league is expanding to Portland, Oregon, and Toronto for the 2026 season. Ahead of the special expansion drafts, WHAT CAN’T YOU DO banners will appear on prominent landmarks around the stadiums where the respective teams will play. These teams will be compiled of formerly retired players, additional upstarts out of college, and trades from other markets. This pivotal moment for the sport will be the perfect 2nd chance for these players to make their mark.
The WNBA is on the precipice of a new era. Whatever happens next, the whole world is watching.
